Opening Times/Classes

Classes run throughout the year please contact 0141 944 2700 to place your name on the waiting list for the next 10 week session.

Charges

At present, there is a £50 charge for materials for each 10 week course.  If attending any drop in sessions, the charge will be £3 per session.


These Drop in sessions are available to people who have attended any of DRAW's classes or have other previous arts or crafts experience.

Main Studio ( 39 Linkwood Crescent ) Drop in Sessions

  • Monday 12.30pm to 3.30pm.Fused Glass Making
  • Monday 6.30pm to 9.30pm. Mosaic Making
  • Thursday 11am to 3pm. Painting & Drawing

Sculpture Studio ( 24 Alerdyce Road ) Drop in Sessions

These Drop in sessions are available to people who have attended any of DRAW's Sculpture or Pottery classes or have other previous experience.

Directions to the Main studio

The main studio is situated at 39 Linkwood Crescent G15 7EP which is at the bottom of the highest of the two  high rise flats, through the door (marked DRAW) at the right hand side of the main foyer.

Directions to the Sculpture studio
The sculpture workshop is located in Unit 2, 24 Allerdyce Drive, Glasgow, G15 6RY

near Riverwood Furniture Makers,

just behind Morton Rolls Ltd/Sainsbury's, Great Western Business Park.

Turn into Allerdyce Road from Duntreath Avenue, at the 1st roundabout, take the 2nd road off, behind Sainsbury’s, then first right, the small business park is on the left.

Alternatively from Great Western Road, drive through the business park to the large roundabout, 1st left behind Sainsbury's then 1st right, then left.

Courses

Stained Glass Course for beginners

Making a stained glass panel

  1. learning all skills associated with stained glass
  2. covering types of glass, symbolism and history.
  3. Learning techniques which will cover glass cutting, design and cartoon making
  4. Glass painting, Leading, soldering, cementing and an introduction to glass fusing.

Fused Glass Course for beginners

1.Learning techniques which will cover glass cutting, design and cartoon making.

2.Creating dishes and bowls, small wall panels.

3. Learn how to use glass kiln.


Introduction to Mosaic

Learn to make a mosaic, learn some of the history and the principles which make the process easier; fun and includes everything you need.

Our popular courses have been running for several years, they are friendly and informal taking place within the studios of DRAW.

The classes are in small groups of about eight students; ability ranges - from beginner to more advanced - come and learn new skills,

 

Drawing Course

The Course is an introduction to drawing, exploring a range of drawing media, and techniques,

as well as different approaches to mark making and Encouraging freedom and spontaneity in your response to image making.

you will work large ,small, fast, slow.

Painting Course


The course offers an opportunity to explore and  learn various techniques offering you the shills to take your paintings to the next level

 In this Painting  course we use only water based paints

Sculpture Course

The course offers an introduction to Stone Carving -

A small clay sculpture will be made first then Soapstone will be used

as it easily carved giving all the chance to create one or maybe two small unique pieces to take home.

Ceramic Course

DRAW offers an introduction to Ceramics - various techniques will be taught including- coil build, slab build, and pot throwing.

All will take home a number of finish pieces
